THE INFAMOUS BARBIE SHUFFLE MIX - PART TWO If you thought that the first Barbie Shuffle Mix was somewhat strange, you can imagine my surprise when at a local record fair, I found an obscure disco shuffle song named Barbie by little known Italian songwriter Renato Pareti. It was indeed a sign that I had to make another mix of all shuffle tracks! This time I went through my collection looking for neglected shuffle tracks and this is what I came up with: a selection of mostly French (Cerrone, Who's Who, Visitors, Five Letters, Space) and Italian (Pareti, Azoto, Angella Dean) productions from 1980 - give or take 1 year. Tthe two exception being Call Me (I think the more "Moroderian" part towards the end is rarely heard on radio versions) and a rather bewildering jazz-funk interlude by Holland's Chaplin Band. I still have a couple of tracks that I decided to put aside for now, mainly for bpm compatibility reasons, so there might be a Part Three sooner or later... 01 Renato Pareti - Barbie (Cetra, 1979) 02 Cerrone - Someone To Love (Malligator, 1980) 03 Who's Who - Ad Libitum 80 (Out, 1980) 04 Lucrethia And The Azoto 14,008 - Sea Breeze (Vedette, 1978) 05 Angella Dean - World X (Mama Music, 1979) 06 Blondie - Call Me (Polydor, 1980) 07 Chaplin Band - Kicks On Swing (Pierrot, 1982) 08 Visitors - Reveille Toi, Svegliati, Get Up!
